Chef Lexy Smith

Chef Lexy Smith
Once a professional skateboarder and stand-up comedian, Chef Lexy has always carved her own path—unconventional, passionate, and full of flavor. A UCLA graduate with a degree in English, her creative journey ultimately found its true direction in the kitchen.
She honed her culinary skills at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu, launching a career that would soon make waves across the Palm Springs dining scene. From working as the sushi chef at Mastro’s to rising through the ranks as Executive Sous Chef at the Rowan Palm Springs—where she opened the acclaimed rooftop restaurant 4 Saints—her talent and leadership quickly became undeniable.
Chef Lexy went on to help craft the beloved menu at Paul Bar and played a key role in opening Amala at the Palm Springs Surf Club. She held the role of Executive Chef at the vibrant Azúcar twice—both before and after her time at Amala—demonstrating her lasting impact and versatility.
Today, she brings her bold, eclectic style to Zin American Bistro, one of Palm Springs’ most cherished culinary institutions, where she now leads as Executive Chef.
A free spirit and animal lover, she shares her life with her wife Michele, a longtime gallerist and artist. Whether on a board, on stage, or at the stove, Chef Lexy continues to blend creativity, heart, and heat into everything she does.
